Security Control Room (Access Control) Operator Job Details The Data Center Physical Security Security Control Room (SCR) Operator serves as the nerve center of security operations at the Data Center. Operators working in the SCR are responsible for monitoring all video, communications, and access control systems. They manage dispatch information, direct and control officer activity, and coordinate security activities occurring on the site, particularly during incidents. The SCR Operator ensures the safety and security of personnel, assets, and reputation by adhering to established protocols and maintaining continuous situational awareness. Responsibilities The responsibilities are divided into several core functional areas, ensuring comprehensive coverage of data center security operations. ? System Monitoring & Access Control ? Alarm Response & Dispatch ? Communications & Coordination ? Incident Response & Reporting ? Daily Operations & Audits Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates must meet specific prerequisites and possess a blend of technical and interpersonal skills. ? Prerequisites ? Completion of required legislative and Basic Functional Training Plans, as well as any local documentation required for the position. ? Technical Proficiency ? Ability to quickly learn and operate complex security systems, type at a minimum of 45 words per minute, familiarity with Google Workspace systems (docs, sheets, slides, forms) ? Communication Skills ? Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey critical information clearly and concisely during high-stress situations. ? Analytical Thinking ? Strong situational awareness, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to assess alarms, determine appropriate responses, and mitigate risks. ? Attention to Detail ? High level of accuracy in monitoring systems, documenting incidents, and performing routine audits. ? Team Collaboration Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, field officers, and management to ensure a secure data center environment.
