About Pride Group Pride Group is a Chandler, Arizona based event production and rental company supporting some of the Southwest's largest events. Our teams handle everything from tenting, fencing, and staging to traffic control, parking, and full event operations support, working alongside clients and venues to make sure every event comes together safely and on time. Position Summary The Operations Support Specialist leads a small team of 3 to 5 associates responsible for the setup and breakdown (strike) of traffic control on event jobs, including signage, cones, barricades, and flagging. This role requires current ATSSA (American Traffic Safety Services Association) certification and a working knowledge of traffic control plans, ensuring every setup is safe, compliant, and matches the site's approved plan. Beyond traffic control, the Specialist and their team pitch in on general event set and strike work, such as tenting, fencing, and staging, whenever traffic control needs allow. This is a hands-on, on-site role that calls for strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to lead a small crew in a fast-paced, outdoor event environment. What You'll Do Lead a team of 3 to 5 associates responsible for traffic control sets and strikes at events Plan and execute traffic control setups, including signage, cones, barricades, and flagging, in line with ATSSA standards Read and apply traffic control plans and site maps to ensure correct placement and safe traffic flow Train and mentor associates on proper traffic control procedures and safety practices Verify trucks are loaded correctly with all needed traffic control equipment before leaving the yard Inspect traffic control equipment for damage and rental readiness, reporting issues to leadership Participate in general event setup and strike work, such as tenting, fencing, and staging, alongside the team when traffic control needs allow Communicate with Supervisors, Event Managers, and other leadership to align on event requirements Reinforce safety practices on site and ensure crew compliance with safety protocols What We're Looking For Current ATSSA certification, or the ability to obtain certification promptly upon hire Hands-on experience with traffic control setups: signage, cones, barricades, and flagging Experience leading or mentoring a small team, ideally in an event, construction, or field-services environment Comfortable working outdoors in Arizona conditions, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as events require Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to drive company trucks to job sites Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail under time pressure Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand or walk for extended periods Nice to Have Prior experience with event equipment setup, such as tenting, fencing, or staging Forklift certification Experience working directly with event managers or venue staff Work Environment This role works primarily outdoors at event sites across the Phoenix metro area, with exposure to varying weather conditions. Schedules can include early mornings, evenings, and weekends depending on event timelines.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 50.0 per week
