This role is responsible for coordinating efficient container pickup and delivery operations throughout the surrounding areas. The dispatcher will manage and schedule LA/LB port pickups and freight deliveries to ensure customer requirements and service deadlines are met. This position involves close coordination with drivers, terminals, and customers to optimize the utilization of drivers and equipment. The ideal candidate will focus on operational efficiency, proactive problem-solving, and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction across all accounts. This is a fast paced, deadline oriented position and the duties include and are not limited to: 1st
Shift:
Start at 8:00am to 4:30pm Coordinate and check-in driver / carrier Take pick up request and administer freight pick up process; Make freight delivery appointments, as required; Coordinate customer freight pick up and drop off situations Make sure all paperwork is handled timely and correctly; Answer phones/help in the office/customer care functions; Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures; Perform administrative functions necessary in the daily operations; Enter data into current system(s).Experience:
A minimum of one year previous experience as a logistics coordinator import/export (Freight Forwarding); High School Diploma or GED required; Bi-Lingual a plus (English and Spanish); Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in both English and Spanish; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; Proven attention to detail and accuracy.Job Type:
