The primary responsibilities of the Air Range Controller are to monitor and process, as necessary, all Range Control radio transmissions under their purview. The Air Range Controller will also ensure that: all aircraft entering R-2501 are scheduled on the Daily Range Schedule and only use the scheduled operating areas; all pilots are briefed on assigned altitude blocks and restrictions; all aircraft mission data is logged on the Fixed-Wing or Rotary-Wing Log. Air Range Controller services and responsibilities under this task shall include but not be limited to: Providing range services to participating aircraft specifically using radar, but may be called upon to use non-radar to provide range services; Providing advisory control and/or monitor control to participating aircraft operating within range airspace; Issuing safety alerts, traffic advisories, and spill out/in advisories (boundary alerts) to aircraft training within or transitioning through

; Providing of aircraft entry and exit briefs; Knowledge of MEDEVAC procedures/responsibilities; Knowledge of SAR procedures/responsibilities Interfacing with air traffic control facilities to deconflict traffic from non-participating aircraft, as necessary; Coordinating VIP movements within the Range/SUA; Ensuring that proper procedures are applied, as well as effective intra-facility and inter-facility communication; Making initial accident/incident notifications in accordance with local SOPs as required; Integrated Range Status System (IRSS) use and operation; Enhanced Terminal Voice Switch (ETVS) use and operation;
