Job Description

Job description : We seek a highly responsible Air Traffic Controller to provide air traffic control services at our North Charleston SC Remote Operations Facility (ROF) supporting ATC operations at McMurdo Station Antarctica and a biannual six month deployment to McMurdo Station to provide air traffic control support. The Tower/Radar/Non-Radar Air Traffic Control Controller shall maintain situational awareness of the overall flow of air traffic operations at the assigned facility assigned, and when applicable, on the controlled movement area (CMA). The Controller-in-Charge is responsible for all ATC facility operations and services during the shift. The Air Traffic Controller shall also: Coordinate and supervise the control of aircraft operating in assigned airspace and vehicular traffic operating on runways, taxiways, and other areas on the airfield. Conduct shift crew relief briefings on applicable Notice to Airman (NOTAMs), weather conditions/forecast, equipment status, field conditions and special operations prior to assuming any position. Issue clearances and advisory information to aircraft under departure control jurisdiction. Determine separation and sequence to be used between aircraft. Provide assistance and priority of services to aircraft in emergency situations. Utilize any or all other radar equipment, as necessary. Report all ATC equipment abnormalities. Operate communications equipment. Prepare and post flight progress strips. Monitor NAVAID alarm systems. Notify responsible Search and Rescue (SAR) and crash/rescue agencies of aircraft distress and other emergencies. Education Graduate of an approved DoD or FAA ATC course. Experience Six (6) years of experience minimum, One (1) year of experience must be from performing in a like type facility. Knowledge of ATC rules, regulations, and techniques; control tower and approach control operations. Knowledge of ATC rules, regulations, and techniques; control tower and approach control operations. Shall hold an FAA (or international equivalent) Control Tower Operator (CTO) certificate or FAA Credential with Tower rating. Must be able to obtain/maintain a US Secret Security Clearance. (

Pay:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
