Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Gatehouse Clerk to oversee entry and exit operations at our facility's gatehouse. This vital role ensures smooth access control for employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel while maintaining security protocols. The Gatehouse Clerk will manage documentation, verify shipments, and support overall warehouse operations with efficiency and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety, security, and logistical flow of our distribution center. Responsibilities Process incoming and outgoing commercial drivers, verify driver IDs, and log truck, trailer, and tractor license details. Review Bills of Lading (BOL), shipping manifests, and dispatch paperwork for accuracy before granting entry or exit clearance. Perform physical trailer inspections, confirm seal numbers on outbound loads, check empty trailers for damage, and report discrepancies immediately. Direct drivers to designated dock doors, parking spots, or staging areas in communication with yard and dispatch operations. Monitor facility gate perimeter, maintain shift logs, control barrier gates, and enforce facility safety protocols for all visitors and contractors. Qualifications 1+ years of experience in security, logistics gatehouse operations, or transportation yard management preferred. Basic computer literacy (data entry, gate logging software, email). Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with drivers, dispatchers, and site personnel. Strong ability to cross-reference numbers, inspect cargo seals, and maintain accurate records. Ability to work in an outdoor gatehouse setting and perform physical walk-around inspections in varying weather conditions.
