Job Summary Civil Core Talent is partnering with a reputable heavy civil contractor to seek a proactive and detail-oriented Traffic Control Technician to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic at construction sites and civil infrastructure projects. In this vital role, you will manage traffic control setups, and coordinate with construction teams to maintain a secure work environment. Your expertise will help facilitate efficient project progress while safeguarding workers and the public. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to construction projects, supporting highway maintenance, utility locating, and other critical infrastructure developments.
Responsibilities:
Direct traffic at construction sites or events to ensure the safe and efficient flow of vehicles and pedestrians. Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, and signs. Communicate with drivers, pedestrians, and construction workers to provide clear instructions and guidance. Monitor traffic conditions and adjust traffic control measures as needed. Report any incidents or safety hazards to the appropriate authorities. Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe work environment
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a traffic controller or in a related field is preferred but not required. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with drivers, pedestrians, and construction workers. Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and work in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license is required.
