Job Description
The Lot Technician is responsible for contributing to the logistical needs of the sales and service departments and demonstrating flexibility and sound judgment in the execution of duties and responsibilities. This position is essential for the successful operation of our fast-paced and dynamic dealership by preparing new and serviced units for delivery, keeping the property clean and orderly, and providing exceptional service to our customers. Our Lot Technician's responsibilities include washing new and used motorcycles, SXS, and ATVs for sales and service departments. This position includes small amounts of safe, heavy lifting as well. Lot Technicians must be able to drive company vehicles. Duties include maintaining a clean and organized dealership lot and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Lot Technicians are constantly transporting motorcycles in and out of the shop, as well as running general errands and driving forklifts. Responsibilities Assemble new powersports vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and guidelines Install accessories and aftermarket parts on vehicles as per customer requests Perform pre-delivery inspections on new vehicles to ensure they are sale-ready and meet quality standards Keep accurate records of all work completed, including parts used Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained Provide exceptional customer service, including answering customer inquiries and providing advice on vehicle maintenance and care Move service units from the service drive area to the to the service unit storage area at the request of the service advisor or service manager Move sales units per the request of the sales department personnel Pick up and deliver sales and service units per scheduling in DX1 and as requested Clean and prepare sales and service units for delivery to customers Run errands as required for Service and Sales departments Monitor DX1 scheduling for pickups and deliveries Keep the lot, shop, and showroom clean and orderly at all times Take out the trash daily Minimum Qualifications Ability to be professional and courteous with customers and co-workers at all times Practically apply safety protocols regarding the use of equipment and units at all times Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing powersports dealership environment California drivers license in good standing Demonstrated dependability Demonstrated ability to hook up, back up and tow a trailer correctly and safely Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Good verbal and written communication skills Good customer service skills Mechanical aptitude Preferred Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Ability to speak conversational English and Spanish Interest in the powersports industry Forklift certification
