We are a multi-state organization of approximately 500 team members specializing in the asset management, property management and project management of market rate, affordable rentals, condominiums and commercial real estate. In addition to wages, this position is eligible for benefit coverage through the appropriate union. The Garage Attendant will assist the rest of the staff, as directed, in their efforts to manage the property in an efficient manner in the enhancement and maintenance of curb appeal.
Responsibilities and Duties :
Report to work on time for every scheduled shift. Arrive with and maintain a neat and clean appearance in complete uniform before and during scheduled shifts. Greet residents, visitors, staff, and others in a professional and courteous manner. Immediately report emergency maintenance requests to the management office. Ascertain nature of business and direct visitors or callers to appropriate department or person. Assist with frequently asked questions. Assist people both in and out of the building, and serve as the interface of the building with the general public. Inspect each vehicle before taking possession and mark tickets of findings. Inform customers of guest parking rates. Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to supervisors. Submit a complete written report of activities to the management office at the end of every shift. Observe all traffic laws and safe driving practices. All other duties as assigned. Skills & Requirements A valid, current state driver's license and clean driving record. Must be capable of handling a variety of serious responsibilities. Must have a positive, friendly attitude and be capable of interacting well with the residents and guests, including responding to complaints or problems. Must have the ability to respond to any emergency situation. Must be able to answer basic questions about the building. Must be able to remain standing for a long periods of time. Must be able to perform simple arithmetic using units of American money. Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of work material as appropriate. Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal directions as well as work independently in the absence of supervision. Ability to adapt to sudden changes, delays, and unforeseen events. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with residents, guests and other employees. High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior valet experience preferred. Ability to drive manual transmission a plus.
