Pay:
$18-$22 per hour Position Summary Dynamic Transit is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Shop Assistant to support the daily operations of our mechanic shop. This is a hands-on position involving a variety of tasks, including cleaning and organizing the shop, assisting mechanics, moving trucks and equipment, handling parts, and completing basic maintenance duties. The ideal candidate is reliable, willing to learn, comfortable working around commercial trucks, and able to take initiative in a fast-paced shop environment. Responsibilities Keep the mechanic shop, work areas, yard, and storage spaces clean and organized. Assist mechanics with tools, parts, supplies, and other tasks as directed. Mount and dismount truck/trailer tires. Operate Forklift on dock as needed. Clean trucks, trailers, equipment, tools, and shop floors. Move trucks, trailers, and equipment around company property when authorized. Dispose of used oil, filters, tires, and other materials according to company procedures and applicable regulations. Run local errands for parts, supplies, and equipment as needed. Follow all safety rules and immediately report hazards, damage, or mechanical concerns. Complete other miscellaneous shop and yard duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a mechanic shop, trucking operation, warehouse, construction, farming, or similar hands-on environment is helpful but not required. Basic knowledge of tools, vehicles, or diesel equipment is preferred. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is preferred. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to communicate effectively with mechanics, drivers, vendors, and supervisors. Willingness to learn and perform a wide variety of tasks. CDL or forklift experience is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to [50-75] pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, and pull throughout the shift. Ability to work around grease, oil, dust, noise, fumes, moving vehicles, and changing weather conditions. Ability to safely use hand tools, cleaning equipment, and other shop equipment after training.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
