In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely operating groundskeeping and landscaping equipment, maintaining parking lots, and ensuring outdoor spaces are pristine, functional, and inviting. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment for visitors and staff alike, combining your mechanical knowledge with outdoor work experience to deliver top-notch grounds maintenance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in landscape upkeep, equipment operation, and safety adherence while contributing to the overall aesthetic and safety of our outdoor spaces. Duties Safely operate groundskeeping, landscaping, and parking lot maintenance equipment including mowers, power tools, irrigation systems, and hardscape tools. Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming plants, planting flowers, and managing garden beds to ensure vibrant and healthy outdoor spaces. Maintain parking areas by cleaning debris, repairing pavement or concrete surfaces, and managing signage to ensure safety and accessibility. Assist with irrigation system installation, inspection, repair, and management to promote healthy plant growth and water efficiency. Identify plants accurately for proper care and pest management; apply pesticides or fertilizers following safety protocols when necessary. Conduct routine inspections of outdoor areas to identify hazards or maintenance needs; perform minor repairs or report issues promptly. Follow all safety protocols diligently during equipment operation and outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and injuries. Requirements Proven outdoor work experience with groundskeeping or landscaping tasks; familiarity with landscape maintenance practices is essential. Mechanical knowledge of lawn care equipment, power tools, irrigation systems, and hardscape tools for efficient operation and troubleshooting. Ability to identify various plants, pests, and signs of plant health issues; knowledge of horticulture principles is preferred. Experience operating grounds maintenance machinery such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems safely and effectively. Strong understanding of pesticide management procedures and adherence to safety guidelines during chemical application. Excellent physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as needed.
