Definition:

This position is directly responsible for the transportation of the children to and from the centers.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a van to transport children to and from designated locations/centers
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle
• Assist children with boarding and exiting the van and making sure their "belongings" and "papers" are not left on the van.
• Driver is responsible for leaving the van clean each afternoon. This includes removing all miscellaneous items left by children and staff.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
• Keep records of trips, (provided) on DHR transportation forms
• The driver is responsible for all children being securely fastened in their seat belts at all times when van is moving.
• The driver is responsible for having all doors locked when van is moving.
• Relate pleasantly with children and parents at all times.

Remind children, nicely, but firmly, to follow safety rules and to keep voices low.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass any required background checks or screenings
