Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Wheelchair Driver to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services for clients with mobility needs. In this role, you will operate specialized passenger vehicles designed for wheelchair accessibility, ensuring punctual pickups and drop-offs while maintaining excellent customer service. Your primary goal is to facilitate comfortable and secure transportation for individuals requiring assistance, adhering to all safety and traffic regulations. Responsibilities Safely operate wheelchair-accessible passenger vehicles, including vans and shuttle buses, on local routes and scheduled appointments Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring proper use of safety equipment such as seat belts and wheelchair restraints Follow GPS navigation systems to efficiently navigate designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and transportation regulations Communicate clearly with clients to confirm pick-up times, destinations, and special needs, providing excellent customer service throughout each trip Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly Manage manual handling tasks involving lifting or securing wheelchairs and mobility aids safely and efficiently Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and client interactions in compliance with company policies and state transportation regulations Qualifications Proven experience as a delivery driver or shuttle driver, preferably with wheelchair or passenger van operation Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with bus driving or limousine chauffeur driving is highly desirable Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and local driving routes Knowledge of state transportation regulations and safety standards for passenger vehicles Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting heavy objects such as wheelchairs or mobility devices Customer service-oriented mindset with a professional demeanor at all times Experience in medical transportation or personal vehicle delivery is a plus Ability to adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times Join our team to deliver reliable transportation services that truly make a difference!
