Standby Cargo Van Owner-Operator — On-Call Backup DriverJob Overview We are seeking a reliable and committed Standby Cargo Van Owner-Operator to serve as a backup driver for our delivery operations. This position is designed for an owner-operator who is willing to remain available and ready to work when called upon . The standby nature of the position means route volume may vary, and you may not have a route every day. However, when you accept a route or are scheduled to provide coverage, we need you to be dependable and follow through . This is not a casual "work whenever I feel like it" opportunity . We are looking for someone who wants to establish a long-term working relationship with our team and understands that being a backup driver means being available when coverage is needed. This Is an Active Delivery Job When working a route, you should expect to: Spend significant time walking outside between delivery stops . Get in and out of your cargo van frequently. Load, unload, lift, carry, and deliver packages throughout the day. Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, and changing weather conditions . Maintain a consistent pace throughout the route. Complete your assigned route by the required cutoff time . Work independently with limited direct supervision. This position is best suited for someone who is physically active, comfortable working outdoors, organized with their time, and able to maintain a steady pace while completing deliveries on schedule. Standby & Availability Expectations Because you are joining our team as a standby/backup driver , your reliability is especially important. We are looking for someone who: Understands that standby does not mean optional once a route has been accepted. Is willing to remain available for potential backup routes based on operational needs. Can respond promptly when contacted about available work. Keeps their cargo van operational and ready to work. Can reliably show up when they commit to a route. Communicates as early as possible if an unavoidable circumstance prevents them from working. Is interested in maintaining an ongoing relationship with our company rather than working for only a few days or a week.

•We understand that standby work may not provide a route every day. In return, we need a driver who takes the commitment seriously

Pay:

$175.00 - $300.00 per day
