Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver, where your role is vital in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for clients requiring medical or specialized transit services. As an NEMT Driver, you'll operate passenger vehicles, including vans and shuttle buses, ensuring timely and comfortable journeys for individuals with diverse mobility needs. Responsibilities Safely operate passenger vans, shuttle buses, and other authorized vehicles on local routes, adhering strictly to traffic laws and transportation regulations. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous customer service and ensuring their comfort throughout the trip. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to follow designated routes while managing time effectively. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met; report any issues promptly. Communicate clearly with dispatch regarding pick-up times, routes, and any delays or changes in schedule. Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage, maintaining proper manual handling techniques. Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle condition reports for compliance purposes. Requirements Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, or shuttle driver with a strong focus on passenger safety and customer service. Valid driver's license appropriate for operating passenger vehicles. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and local driving routes to optimize efficiency. Experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is highly desirable. Knowledge of state transportation regulations governing passenger vehicles and safety protocols. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when assisting clients or managing equipment. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients, team members, and dispatch personnel. Demonstrated responsibility in adhering to traffic laws and maintaining vehicle maintenance standards.
