In this vital role, you will provide safe, reliable transportation and implement engaging programs that promote independence, social skills, and daily living activities. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help empower clients to reach their full potential while ensuring their safety and well-being during transportation and program activities. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities through compassionate support and active engagement. Responsibilities Safely operate standard passenger cars to transport clients to various community locations, appointments, and activities, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, feeding as needed. Implement individualized program plans focused on skill development, social interaction, behavioral health, and community integration. Support clients during outings by providing behavioral management strategies and ensuring a positive experience. Collect data on client progress, behavior, and participation to inform ongoing care plans and report outcomes accurately. Communicate effectively with clients, families, caregivers, and team members to coordinate care and share important updates. Maintain a clean, safe vehicle environment through regular inspections and adherence to safety standards; perform basic vehicle maintenance when necessary. Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents during transportation or program activities by following established protocols such as first aid or CPR procedures. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with autism or other neurodevelopmental disabilities in settings such as special education, behavioral health, or social services prefered. Knowledge of behavior management techniques and supporting clients with cognitive disabilities or intellectual disabilities. Familiarity with assisting clients with ADLs and providing personal transportation assistance in home or community environments. Experience working with patients who have developmental disabilities or neurodiverse conditions in caregiving or direct support roles. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with families or multidisciplinary teams. Valid driver's license with experience operating standard passenger vehicles; clean driving record preferred. Certifications such as first aid/CPR, data collection experience are highly desirable.
