This position offers an opportunity to provide essential services with professionalism, empathy, and precision. As a key member of our funeral home operations, you will coordinate transportation logistics, operate various passenger vehicles, and uphold the highest standards of safety and customer care. Your dedication will help families during their most difficult moments, delivering dignity and comfort through your service. Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of vehicles including passenger vans, limousines, and specialized transport vans to move deceased individuals between funeral homes, hospitals, cemeteries, and other designated locations. Adhere strictly to local traffic laws and state transportation regulations while maintaining punctuality on scheduled routes. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance tasks to ensure all transport vehicles are in optimal condition. Communicate clearly with funeral home staff, clients, and other stakeholders to coordinate pick-up and drop-off schedules efficiently. Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks when loading or unloading deceased remains with dignity and care. Maintain accurate documentation of transport logs, delivery records, and incident reports as required by regulatory standards. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by providing respectful assistance to families and clients during transportation processes. Qualifications Proven experience as a delivery driver or shuttle driver with a strong understanding of safe driving practices. Experience operating passenger vehicles such as vans, limousines, or bus driving is highly desirable. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Knowledge of local driving routes, heavy lifting techniques, and adherence to traffic regulations is essential. Strong communication skills for client interaction and coordination with team members. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while maintaining composure in sensitive situations. Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type(s) operated; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle requirements. Prior experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is a plus but not required; training will be provided if necessary.
