Responsibilities:

Drive starting car in a consistent and safe manner for each live harness race at Dover Downs Wash starting car as necessary Fuel starting car as necessary Store starting car in proper place at conclusion of each racing day Take direction from Starter when appropriate Use extreme care and horsemanship to provide safety to all horses racing at Dover Downs Work in high-traffic area with respect to horses and horsemen Provides exceptional customer service Works safely, following all established safety rules and regulations Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests Follows all relevant policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment:

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights as scheduled Current Delaware driver's license required Ability to maintain a straight and consistent course with the starting car while the gate is extended Ability to drive ahead of the horses with the starting car gate extended for a prolonged period of time should an emergency arise Ability to step up into a vehicle Must be able to successfully pass a background check
