This role is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, designated bus stops, field trips, and other approved school activities. The ideal candidate is punctual, patient, professional, and comfortable working with children and families. Our drivers play an important role in each student's day by creating a safe, welcoming, and dependable transportation experience.
Schedule:
Monday
  • Friday, 6:30 AM
  • 9:00 AM and/or 2:00
  • 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities Safely transport students along assigned routes and to designated locations Follow all traffic laws, school transportation procedures, and safety requirements Arrive on time and maintain dependable morning and/or afternoon transportation schedules Assist students with safely entering and exiting the vehicle when needed Ensure students remain seated and follow appropriate safety expectations while riding Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle Immediately report vehicle concerns, accidents, delays, behavioral concerns, or other transportation issues Follow assigned routes, schedules, student rosters, and pick-up/drop-off instructions Communicate professionally with students, parents, school staff, and administrators Maintain appropriate student confidentiality and professional boundaries Participate in required training, meetings, and transportation procedures Support field trips and special school transportation needs when scheduled Qualifications Valid driver's license with a safe driving record Reliable, punctual, and responsible Strong attention to safety and detail Ability to communicate professionally with children, families, and staff Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in unexpected situations Comfortable working around children of various ages Ability to perform basic physical duties associated with the position, including assisting students and handling transportation-related items when necessary Preferred Experience Previous professional driving experience is preferred, including : School transportation School bus or van driving Shuttle driving Paratransit Commercial driving Childcare or youth transportation Delivery or route-based driving Experience working with children in a school, childcare, church, camp, or youth-focused environment is also a plus.
