Job Description

Position Summary:
Freedom Transportation, LLC is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused full-time driver to operate wheelchair-accessible minivans. In this role, you will provide safe, reliable, and courteous non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) for passengers who require wheelchair assistance, ensuring they reach their appointments comfortably and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate and navigate wheelchair-accessible minivans along assigned daily routes. Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices using industry-standard restraint systems and securements. Assist passengers safely in and out of the vehicle, offering a high standard of customer service and compassionate care. Maintain accurate daily trip logs, mileage records, and vehicle inspection reports. Communicate punctually with dispatch regarding schedule adjustments, route updates, or passenger status using fleet software and mobile tools. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure cleanliness, mechanical readiness, and safety compliance. Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and HIPAA privacy guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (commercial driver's license not required, but clean record is mandatory). Proven experience in professional driving, customer service, or healthcare transport (NEMT experience preferred). Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and required physical assessments. Strong physical capability to operate wheelchair ramps/lifts and secure mobility equipment. Exceptional punctuality, reliability, and professional communication skills.
What We Offer:
Consistent Monday through Friday daytime schedule (no nights or weekends required). Competitive hourly compensation with opportunities for growth. A supportive, team-oriented work environment with stable full-time hours.
Pay:
$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
