The person in this position typically operates a paratransit vehicle in scheduled and demand response, specialized transportation service, provides passenger assistance in boarding, disembarking, and on-board the vehicle, collects fares, and maintains appropriate records. The person in this position must have a good driving record, and possess, a valid Florida Driver's License. This is a safety-sensitive position, which requires substance abuse testing per BBT's Substance Abuse Policy. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Operations Manager in the respective county. Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving various types of vehicles, including motor coaches, vans, and school buses, while providing exceptional customer service. This role requires effective communication skills and a commitment to safety and professionalism. Duties Drive and maintain vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition. Provide safe and efficient transportation for passengers to designated locations. Communicate effectively with passengers regarding routes, schedules, and any changes. Deliver excellent customer service by assisting passengers with their needs during transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety compliance. Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage and passenger counts. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
