Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Van Driver and Afterschool Teacher to join our vibrant team! In this dual role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children to and from school and afterschool activities while creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young learners. Responsibilities Safely operate a van or similar vehicle to transport children to school, afterschool programs, and related activities, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols Supervise children during transit, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Assist with afterschool program activities by facilitating youth group activities, arts and crafts, outdoor games, and educational lessons Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate effectively with parents regarding transportation schedules or any concerns Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct during transit and activities Support classroom management by engaging children in age-appropriate learning experiences and helping maintain a structured environment Follow first aid protocols and be prepared to respond promptly in case of minor injuries or emergencies using CPR/AED skills when necessary Skills Proven experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols Experience with special education needs or childhood development is highly desirable Excellent child supervision skills with an understanding of behavior management techniques Ability to lead outdoor work activities safely and effectively in various weather conditions Effective team leadership qualities combined with the ability to work independently when needed Join us in making a difference!
