Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Van Driver to join our team! As a Van Driver with Allure of Peru, you will be responsible for providing safe and secure transportation of patients to and from hospitals, medical offices, dialysis centers, and private residences. If you have excellent customer service skills, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for helping others, we encourage you to apply!
Responsibilities:
Provide high-level customer service while transporting residents to and from activities, appointments, and other outings Assist residents with boarding and leaving the bus, securing wheelchairs and walkers, and assisting with groceries and packages Monitor resident safety at all times, ensuring their well-being and comfort during travel Perform general upkeep of the vehicle, including fueling, conducting preventative maintenance, and delivering the vehicle to authorized service facilities Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, including daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections and vehicle cleanliness Follow all safety procedures and protocols, reporting any hazardous conditions, defective equipment, or accidents/incidents to the supervisor immediately Communicate effectively with facility staff regarding schedule progress and receive additional instructions Understand how to operate GPS, Two-Way Radio, and/or Cell Phone to navigate effectively Maintain accurate activity and vehicle report logs
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Active Illinois Driver's License required Driver's License requirements are determined by the size of the vehicle (Class C or E) No driver under the age of twenty-five (25) or over the age of seventy-four (74) DOT compliant physical Experience as a bus or van driver preferred Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing Ability to communicate effectively with residents
Physical Demands:
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet Must be able to push/pull up to 275 pounds to a minimum distance of 50 feet May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate The employee is in and out of a vehicle daily and exposed to outdoor weather conditions that vary The employee is sometimes subject to emotionally upset residents or family members
Salary:
