Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Patient Transport Driver, where your energetic and compassionate approach will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments, hospital stays, and other healthcare facilities. Your positive attitude and excellent driving skills will ensure a smooth, comfortable experience for every patient you serve. Responsibilities Safely operate various types of vehicles including shuttle vans, limousines, and paratransit buses to transport patients efficiently and securely. Assist patients with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing support for those with mobility challenges or special needs. Maintain clear communication with healthcare staff, patients, and dispatchers to coordinate timely pickups and drop-offs. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety. Handle heavy lifting when necessary to load or unload mobility aids or medical equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure safe transportation at all times. Maintain accurate records of trips, passenger details, and vehicle logs in compliance with privacy standards. Skills Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or limousine service that demonstrates reliability and professionalism. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare personnel, and team members. Knowledge of paratransit operations and familiarity with heavy lifting techniques for handling medical equipment or mobility aids. Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and identify mechanical issues early. Excellent driving skills with a clean record; experience in commercial driving or school bus driving is highly valued. Customer service-oriented mindset focused on providing compassionate support to diverse patient populations. Ability to stay alert during long shifts and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
