Springfield Hospital Center Transportation Department 6655 Sykesville Road Sykesville, MD 21784 Main Purpose Of Job The main purpose of this job is to transport medications from the pharmacy to the medication rooms while adhering to daily delivery schedules. This position ensures the integrity and security of medications during transportation, keeps accurate records of deliveries, follows established delivery schedules, and gathers hospital isolation trash and transport to vendor pickup point on-site. At times, this position may also transport physically or mentally ill patients and the staff that apany them, and transport supplies, food, equipment, donated items, mail, medication and lab specimens. All transports shall be in a safe, timely, dignified and professional manner utilizing various types of vehicles such as vans, buses, passenger cars and trucks. This position is designated as Emergency Essential and expected to report for work or remain at the work site to continue agency operations during an emergency closing situation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Note:
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a nonmissioned officer in Vehicle Operations classifications or Motor Transport or Vehicle Operations specialty codes in the passenger transporting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employees must possess or obtain a Class C nonmercial driver's license valid in the State of Maryland. 2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which involve the operation of large passenger vehicles. Employees assigned these duties will be required to possess a driver's license of the appropriate class valid in the State of Maryland. 3. Employees in this classification will be required to successfullyplete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, violence management and basic first aid training.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Employees may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employer with a telephone number where they can be reached. 2. Some positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the employee to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission. 3. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
