Kids & Co. Childcare Center in Turner is hiring a van driver for school transportation. This is a split shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. No nights and no weekends.

About the role:

You'll be responsible for the morning school drop off run and the afternoon pick up run, transporting children safely between our center and the local schools. You'll load and unload children, keep an accurate head count, follow all traffic and safety laws, and do a basic check of the van before each route. When you're not on the road, you'll be in the classrooms with the children, so this is a hands on role, not just driving. What we're looking for: We need someone dependable above all else. Families plan their day around that van, so showing up on time every day is the job. You should have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, be comfortable and patient with children of all ages, and be personable with both kids and parents. You'll need to be able to lift 30 to 35 pounds and get on the floor with children. All applicants must pass a state background check and be at least 21 years old. Prior childcare experience is helpful but not required, and we'll train the right person. Staff may also qualify for the Maine early childhood salary supplement of $240 to $540 per month depending on MRTQ level, and we'll help you get set up with that. Additional hours are available for anyone who wants them.
