Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Childcare Van Driver for Wonder Seeds Learning Center to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school, home and scheduled field trip activities as applicable. This vital role involves operating school buses or vans with a focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive environment for children while demonstrating strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and adherence to traffic laws. This is a split shift position with need in the morning and the evening for drop off. Duties Safely operate childcare vans or buses on designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations Ensure the well-being of children during transit by practicing behavior management and child safety protocols Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to verify mechanical condition and cleanliness Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and dispatchers to coordinate schedules and address concerns Assist children with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring proper seating and safety restraints are used Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, student attendance, and vehicle maintenance needs Respond promptly to emergency situations or incidents during transit, following established safety procedures Pick up and drop of children on designated route (mainly before and after school pick and drop off) Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles; prior school bus driving experience is highly desirable Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for effective interaction with diverse communities Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance basics (mechanical knowledge) Experience working with children or in childcare settings; patience and behavior management skills are essential Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally while maintaining focus on safety Physical ability to assist children as needed and perform routine vehicle inspection Take the Child Passenger & Restraint training required for childcare transportation.
