Part-Time About the Opportunity Noble Hearts HR Consulting & Staffing is partnering with a valued client to identify a dependable and caring Transportation Aide to support student transportation services in the North Kansas City and Liberty School Districts . This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, values safety, and wants to make a meaningful difference in the community. Transportation Aides play an important role in ensuring students have a safe, comfortable, and orderly ride to and from school. Position Summary The Transportation Aide is responsible for assisting students with loading, unloading, seating, and safely securing passengers during transportation. The Aide also supports students who may require additional assistance, including students with disabilities or behavioral needs. Working alongside the vehicle driver, the Transportation Aide helps maintain a safe and orderly environment during regular transportation activities and emergency situations. Key Responsibilities Safely assist students with loading and unloading from the vehicle. Ensure passengers are properly seated and secured using applicable child restraint devices, including car seats, booster seats, and seat belts. Assist with securing assistive devices as needed. Position yourself in the vehicle to maintain appropriate observation and provide assistance to all students. Monitor the safety and well-being of students during transportation. Provide appropriate support for students with disabilities, behavioral concerns, or other individual needs. Ensure no passenger is ever left unattended or unsupervised in the vehicle. Support the driver during routine transportation activities and emergency situations. Facilitate the safe evacuation of passengers in the event of an accident or emergency. Assist the driver when backing the vehicle when necessary. Become familiar with assigned routes and assist substitute drivers with route information. Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle interior. Maintain professional communication with students, drivers, families, school personnel, and other internal and external contacts. Follow all company safety guidelines, policies, procedures, and applicable transportation requirements. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Required Must be at least 18 years of age . Must be able to successfully complete a company-sponsored Health Assessment. Must be able to successfully complete a company-sponsored Physical Duties Assessment. Must be able to pass a company-sponsored drug screening. Must be able to pass a company-sponsored criminal background check. CPR and First Aid certification or ability to become certified within 30 days of employment . Genuine interest in working with children of all ages. Ability to understand and demonstrate empathy toward individuals with disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform responsibilities in a professional, dependable, and reliable manner. Ability to follow safety procedures and exercise sound judgment in routine and emergency situations. Preferred Previous experience working with children, students, individuals with disabilities, or individuals requiring additional assistance. Experience in student transportation, childcare, education, direct care, behavioral health, caregiving, or a related field. Current CPR and First Aid certification. Familiarity with child passenger safety and restraint procedures. Physical and Work Requirements Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including daylight, darkness, rain, snow, heat, and cold. Ability to work independently as well as with drivers, students, and other team members. Ability to walk, lift as required by the position, and repeatedly step into and out of a transportation van. Ability to hear, listen, see, and communicate clearly. Ability to use hands, fingers, and feet to safely perform job responsibilities. Ability to read instructions and complete written documentation legibly. Ability to analyze situations, solve problems, exercise good judgment, and make appropriate safety-related decisions.
