As a Patient Transport Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients are transported comfortably and securely while supporting the overall operational needs of the healthcare environment. Responsibilities Safely operate shuttle vehicles, limousines, or other transport modes to move patients between departments, clinics, or external locations. Assist patients with boarding and disembarking vehicles, providing courteous and compassionate support. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness. Communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients to coordinate transportation schedules and address any special needs. Handle heavy lifting when necessary to assist with patient mobility equipment or luggage. Maintain accurate records of transportation activities and report any vehicle issues promptly. Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety protocols, and organizational policies to ensure safe transport at all times. Experience Prior shuttle driving or delivery driver experience preferred; familiarity with commercial driving regulations is essential. Experience in bus driving, paratransit services, or school bus driving is highly advantageous. Strong communication skills for interacting professionally with patients, staff, and colleagues. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when assisting patients or handling equipment. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance routines to support vehicle safety and longevity. Demonstrated reliability with a focus on punctuality and safety in transportation roles.
