Part-Time / PRN Resident Transportation Driver Gold Crest Retirement Center Gold Crest Retirement Center is seeking a dependable, compassionate Part-Time / PRN Resident Transportation Driver to transport residents safely to medical appointments and assist with occasional new-admission pickups. This position offers flexible scheduling within defined weekday transportation hours . The selected employee will have an established part-time schedule, with opportunities to accept additional PRN trips as available. This is an excellent position for a retired or semi-retired healthcare professional, EMT, CNA, school-bus driver, caregiver, or other responsible individual seeking meaningful part-time work. Schedule Approximately 16-24 hours per week Primarily weekday and daytime hours Regularly defined transportation days and hours Some flexibility in establishing the regular weekly schedule Optional additional PRN hours for new-admission pickups, special appointments, and facility needs Appointment schedules and transportation assignments provided in advance whenever possible Primary Responsibilities Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments and other approved destinations Provide courteous and respectful assistance to residents entering and exiting the vehicle Safely operate the wheelchair-accessible van and mechanical lift Properly secure wheelchairs using four-point tie-downs and resident seat belts Communicate with nursing staff regarding resident mobility needs, appointment information, and return times Assist with occasional new-admission transportation Complete required mileage, transportation, vehicle, and incident documentation Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections Keep the transportation vehicle clean, fueled, and ready for use Report vehicle concerns or needed maintenance promptly Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality Assist with limited facility support duties between scheduled trips, depending on transportation needs and available hours Qualifications Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Dependable attendance and ability to follow an established schedule Ability to pass required background and driving-record checks Ability to work patiently and respectfully with older adults and individuals with mobility or cognitive limitations Ability to safely operate a wheelchair lift and wheelchair-securement equipment after training Ability to provide routine mobility assistance within established training and safety guidelines CPR and first-aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification Good communication, judgment, and customer-service skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow facility policies Healthcare or professional transportation experience is helpful but not required. CNA, EMT, paramedic, caregiving, assisted-living, skilled-nursing, or wheelchair-transportation experience is preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to assist residents with routine entry into and exit from facility vehicles Ability to bend, reach, stand, and walk as required Ability to operate wheelchair ramps, lifts, straps, and securement equipment Ability to push and maneuver occupied wheelchairs safely Residents requiring extensive assistance, mechanical-lift transfers, clinical monitoring, or two-person assistance will be accompanied or supported by appropriately qualified facility staff.
