Job Description:

Senior Resource Connection is seeking reliable Bulk Food Van Drivers to deliver congregate meals to various locations in the Dayton area. The ideal candidate will have experience driving a bulk food van and be comfortable navigating different routes to ensure timely delivery of meals. M-F, hours vary. Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of prepared food, food service equipment, supplies, and necessary paperwork to designated senior dining sites within the community. The role supports the nutritional health of older adults by ensuring accurate delivery of meals and supplies while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and compliance with food safety standards.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Transportation of Meals and Equipment:

Accurately compile, load, and deliver daily food and supply orders to assigned senior dining nutrition sites. Transport and distribute necessary paperwork and documentation for each site. Retrieve food containers and equipment from dining sites for proper cleaning and sanitation. 2.

Cleaning and Support Duties:

Assist with cleaning and sanitation of returned food containers and equipment, as needed. Support kitchen staff with basic tasks when not on delivery route or when assigned. 3.

Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:

Maintain cleanliness and operational condition of assigned delivery vehicle. Report and document any vehicle malfunctions, breakdowns, accidents, or route issues. Ensure vehicle is properly fueled, serviced, and washed as needed. 4.

Additional Duties:

Provide assistance with the delivery of home-delivered meals when required. Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Local streets, roadways, and navigation routes. Food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations.

Ability to:

Read and interpret maps and written instructions. Follow delivery schedules and directions with attention to detail. Communicate effectively and maintain courteous relationships with site staff, co-workers, and supervisors. Drive safely and proactively under varying road and weather conditions.

Skill in:

Basic math, reading, and writing. Following time-sensitive schedules and adapting to route changes.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year of experience in delivery driving or related transportation role. Valid Ohio Driver's License with a clean driving record. Must pass a Motor Vehicle background check and meet agency insurance eligibility requirements.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. from floor to waist and carry up to 100 lbs. which includes pushing/pulling carts, handling heavy bags, and lifting items from top storage racks. Regular physical activity including standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, carrying, and handling equipment.

Work Conditions:

Indoor and outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
