Job Description

Substitute Van Driver $14.56/hr
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated record of successful employment. Valid Ohio's driver's license with an excellent driving record. Must have a current Van Certification. Must be able to pass the school bus physical/drug test. Must be insurable by board insurance carrier. Must pass state and federally required BCI and FBI background checks. Must attend State of Ohio in-service classes held by the State Instructor. Must complete all training and classes as required by law, and as required by Sylvania Schools. Substitute Bus Aide $14.04/hr Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated record of successful employment. Valid BCI and FBI background checks on file. Valid CPI Certificate. Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate. Valid Educational Aide Permit. Special training will be required for this one-on-one job. Experience working with students with disabilities; must be willing to assist students and learn to communicate with non-verbal students with visual, physical, or behavioral challenges. Must be willing to learn to operate bus lift and secure wheelchairs into appropriate hookups. Ability to interact well with co-workers, parents and district staff. Must complete all training as required by Sylvania Schools and/or the Ohio Department of Education.
