1 About the role We're hiring two on-call wheelchair van drivers who will be positioned in the Portland metro area to support time-sensitive discharge requests and other on-demand medical transportation needs. This is not a typical "set schedule" driving job. When dispatch calls, you must be able to get into a vehicle and roll . Trips may include long-distance transports , long days , and late-night returns depending on discharge timing. What you'll do Respond to on-call dispatch requests, primarily for Portland-area discharges Safely transport passengers in a wheelchair-accessible vehicle Perform proper wheelchair securement and passenger assistance as required Communicate clearly with dispatch and follow trip instructions Maintain safe, professional service and complete required documentation What we're looking for Reliable, professional driver who can truly be on-call and responsive Drivers must be available to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm Comfortable with long-distance driving and extended shifts Must be at least 25 years old. Able to work occasional late nights (discharges don't always happen 9-5) Strong customer service and calm demeanor under pressure Clean driving record and ability to pass required background/drug screening (as applicable) Prior NEMT / wheelchair securement experience preferred (we can train the right person)
