Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Mortuary Transporter to join our compassionate team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely and respectfully transporting deceased individuals between funeral homes, medical facilities, and burial sites. Your professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining dignity during sensitive situations will ensure families receive respectful service. Responsibilities Safely operate various passenger vehicles, including passenger vans, limousines, shuttle buses, and personal vehicles for transportation of deceased individuals. Follow all traffic laws and state transportation regulations during local driving routes to ensure safe deliveries. Coordinate with funeral homes, medical facilities, and families to arrange timely pickups and drop-offs. Maintain clear communication with clients and team members to ensure smooth transportation processes. Assist with manual handling of deceased persons using proper lifting techniques to ensure safety and dignity. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation of all transport vehicles. Adhere strictly to health, safety, and confidentiality standards throughout all transportation activities. Requirements Prior experience as a delivery driver or shuttle driver is highly preferred; experience with medical or mortuary transport is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating passenger vans, chauffeur-driven vehicles, or limousine services is desirable. Strong knowledge of GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and timely arrivals. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely and effectively. Excellent communication skills for interacting professionally with clients, families, and team members. Familiarity with local driving routes, traffic regulations, and state transportation laws. Reliable transportation with a personal vehicle suitable for delivery duties if required. Demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and discretion when handling sensitive situations related to deceased individuals.
