Responsibilities Escort oversize loads along designated routes, ensuring safe passage through traffic and construction zones Operate pilot cars and escort vehicles equipped with GPS navigation systems and fleet tracking technology to monitor load progress Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, law enforcement, and clients via mobile devices to coordinate movements and relay critical information Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and regulations related to oversize load transportation, including air brake and manual transmission operation Conduct pre-trip inspections of escort vehicles, including pickup trucks and specialized trailers such as tanker or heavy equipment transport units Assist with load & unload activities when necessary using pallet jacks or manual handling techniques while practicing safe lifting practices Navigate challenging driving conditions, including adverse weather or heavy traffic, maintaining professionalism and safety at all times Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating standard passenger cars, pickup trucks, or commercial vehicles is required Familiarity with GPS navigation systems, fleet GPS tracking tools, and mobile devices for route management and communication. Ability to pin out routes from permits and follow detours.
