Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Wheelchair Van Driver/Non-Medical Stretcher Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation services for clients requiring mobility assistance. This role involves operating passenger vehicles, including wheelchair-accessible vans, to transport clients to various destinations. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical transportation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate local routes using GPS. You will be responsible for maintaining professional interactions with clients, adhering to traffic regulations, and ensuring safety during every trip. Open availability from Monday through Saturday between 4 am and 6 pm is required, with scheduling details discussed during the interview. Responsibilities Safely operate passenger vehicles, including wheelchair vans and non-medical stretchers, ensuring the comfort and safety of clients during transit Communicate effectively with elderly patients and their families to provide a respectful and caring experience Maintain contact with dispatch using multiple cellphone apps to coordinate pickups, drop-offs, and route adjustments Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure timely and secure transportation Navigate local routes efficiently using GPS devices to reach destinations promptly Assist clients with manual handling when necessary, including securing wheelchairs or stretchers in the vehicle Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs professionally and compassionately Adhere to scheduling requirements, maintaining open availability from Monday through Saturday between 4 am and 6 pm Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Prior experience in medical transportation or non-medical stretcher transport preferred Comfortable communicating with elderly patients and their families in a respectful manner Ability to operate GPS navigation systems effectively Manual handling skills for assisting clients with mobility devices or stretchers Open availability for scheduling Monday through Saturday from 4 am to 6 pm (specific schedule details will be discussed during the interview) Strong adherence to traffic regulations and safety standards Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact by providing essential transportation services with professionalism and care.
