Position Goal:
Safely and efficiently transport students. Work requires ability to safely operate vehicles and ability to positively represent the district to students, parents and community. Provide safe student transportation in strict compliance with State Law and School Board Policies, maintain vehicle and equipment in a clean and safe manner as listed in Handbook for School Bus Drivers and follow requirements as listed in PA Manual for School Bus Drivers. Must be able to pass drug and alcohol tests and physical examination. Must be courteous and service oriented and deal effectively with people. Valid PA Driver's License required. The Van Driver will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties requested by the Building Principal or designee. The position holder must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Position Specifications:
Educational Level:
High School Diploma or GED Work Year:
Part-time Position, 10-month (September to June)
Physical Demands:
Frequent bending, stooping, reaching and grasping. Must be able to operate and drive a motor vehicle. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional light lifting•maximum 20 pounds. Ability to evacuate the vehicle in the event of an emergency Ability to assist with the evacuation of children Ability to lift/drag or cause to move any student unable to help themselves in evacuation emergencies.
Sensory Abilities:
Visual acuity to be able to operate a motor vehicle. Auditory acuity to be able hear students and emergency sirens. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.
Work Environment:
Operating a motor vehicle (bus or van) daily. Exposure to weather. Noise level is moderate to loud.
Temperament:
Must be courteous and be able to deal effectively with people Must be cooperative, congenial, and service oriented
Cognitive Ability:
Ability to read, write, and do simple computation Ability to follow written and verbal directions Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision Ability to work independently and make work-related decisions Ability to exercise good judgement in prioritizing tasks Ability to communicate effectively License/Clearance(s): Act 34•Criminal History Clearance Act 151•Child Abuse History Clearance Valid PA Driver's License Act 114•
