Responsibilities Safely operate your personal cargo van to pick up and deliver packages across designated routes, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload items efficiently using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before each shift to confirm vehicle safety, including checking tires, lights, brakes, and fluid levels. Manage delivery documentation accurately using mobile devices or digital platforms, recording delivery statuses and obtaining customer signatures when required. Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delays, or issues encountered during deliveries. Provide excellent customer service by greeting recipients professionally, answering questions courteously, and ensuring a positive delivery experience. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior to uphold safety standards and company image. Qualifications Proven experience in delivery driving or courier services with a focus on warehouse operations or commercial driving preferred. Valid personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage; familiarity with box trucks or cargo vans is a plus. Strong knowledge of route driving, manual transmission operation, and heavy lifting techniques aligned with safe manual handling practices. Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary for loading or unloading. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and safe driving practices on public roads. Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere strictly to schedules while maintaining flexibility for route adjustments.
