Job Description
Responsibilities Interacts daily with children and serves as their trusted transportation to and from school Take the same routes in the morning and afternoon each day but may adjust their schedules for extracurricular and special events Should have an authoritative, yet calming demeanor and a strong understanding of traffic laws Must be able to supervise students as they cross the street and enter or exit the van, greet them and manage their behavior during the van ride. Maintain the van by keeping it clean, fueling it regularly and following transportation procedures. In charge of providing safe transport for school children based on a schedule and route. Must be vigilant in ensuring that all children have safety entered and exited the van helping students board the van, learning which students take their route planning around traffic during trips. Transport children and other passengers to and from school Obey all traffic laws Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times Ensure the safety of all students Verify child's transportation permissions Discipline children as needed to maintain a safe environment Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route Attend safety meetings as required Ability to carry out assigned route on time Abide by Texas Minimum Standards for child care centers licensing regulations Must be able to communicate with parents and teachers about the childrens' behavior on the bus and work to resolve interpersonal issues using the software provided Other Duties as assigned in between trips Participate in Summer Camp Transportation Reports to Director and Assistant Director Required Work experience One or more years of experience driving children preferred Qualifications Driving Record should be free of any traffic or criminal violations in the last 3-5 years. (Current Texas DPS Type 3A Driving Record required. Must be obtained within 24-48 hours of acceptance of position). Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations Valid Texas Driver's License Clean Drug Screening Must be able to pass a criminal background check
