Independent Contractor - 1099 / Medical Courier Job Description DGN Reliable is seeking dependable and professional Medical Courier Drivers to provide safe, timely, and reliable transportation of medical supplies, specimens, equipment, documents, and other healthcare-related materials throughout Northern Virginia and surrounding areas. Drivers with a cargo van are strongly preferred. Applicants with other reliable vehicles may also be considered depending on route requirements. Responsibilities Pick up and deliver medical specimens, supplies, equipment, documents, and other healthcare-related items. Complete assigned pickups and deliveries safely and on time. Properly handle and secure medical materials during transportation. Maintain accurate pickup, delivery, and chain-of-custody documentation when required. Communicate professionally with dispatch, healthcare facilities, laboratories, medical offices, and other clients. Protect confidential patient and healthcare information. Immediately report delays, delivery issues, or route concerns. Maintain a clean, reliable, and properly insured vehicle. Follow company safety, HIPAA, OSHA, and transportation procedures. Requirements Cargo van required. Valid driver's license. Clean and safe driving record. Reliable and properly maintained vehicle. Current auto insurance. Smartphone with GPS. Ability to pass a background check. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload medical items. Strong communication and organizational skills. Comfortable driving throughout Northern Virginia and surrounding areas. Previous medical courier, specimen delivery, healthcare transportation, courier, delivery, or logistics experience preferred. HIPAA and OSHA training/certification preferred.
