Position Summary The Shuttle Van Driver is responsible for providing safe, courteous, reliable, and professional transportation services for hotel guests. This position transports guests to and from Norfolk International Airport, Cruise line, and designated locations within a 3-mile radius of the hotel while delivering the warm and welcoming service associated with the DoubleTree by Hilton brand. The Shuttle Van Driver is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the hotel shuttle and assisting guests with luggage and transportation-related needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Service
- Provide friendly, professional, and courteous service to all guests, visitors, and team members.
- Greet guests warmly and assist with entering and exiting the shuttle vehicle.
- Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage and personal belongings.
- Provide helpful information regarding hotel services, local attractions, restaurants, transportation, and designated destinations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the hotel in a positive manner at all times.
- Communicate effectively with the Front Desk regarding guest transportation requests, schedules, delays, and special needs.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions and concerns. Transportation and Safety
- Safely transport hotel guests to and from designated locations in accordance with hotel policies and scheduled routes.
- Operate the shuttle van in compliance with all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain a safe driving record and exercise sound judgment in all driving conditions.
- Follow established hotel procedures regarding passenger capacity, seat belt use, and guest safety.
- Conduct a daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the shuttle vehicle.
- Immediately report mechanical problems, safety concerns, accidents, damage, or maintenance needs to management.
- Complete required vehicle inspection reports, mileage logs, trip records, and other documentation accurately.
- Follow all hotel emergency procedures and respond appropriately in the event of an accident, vehicle breakdown, medical emergency, or other emergency situation.
- Maintain required driver licenses, certifications, and training as required by applicable laws and hotel policies. Vehicle Maintenance and Appearance
- Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the shuttle van, including the interior and exterior.
- Ensure the vehicle is properly fueled and ready for scheduled service.
- Check the condition and availability of required safety equipment, including the fire extinguisher, first aid kit, emergency supplies, and other required equipment.
- Report maintenance needs promptly and ensure the vehicle is removed from service when unsafe to operate.
- Assist with coordinating routine maintenance and servicing as directed by management. Hotel Operations
- Maintain communication with the Front Desk and other hotel departments to ensure efficient transportation services.
- Follow established schedules while maintaining flexibility to meet changing guest needs and operational demands.
- Assist with hotel operations and guest service duties during periods when transportation services are not required, as assigned by management.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding hotel guests and hotel business.
- Follow all DoubleTree by Hilton and hotel policies, procedures, safety standards, and service expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous professional driving, hospitality, customer service, or transportation experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must meet all insurance and company requirements for operating a hotel-owned or managed vehicle.
- Ability to safely operate a passenger shuttle van.
- Knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, airports, and surrounding areas preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or unexpected situations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts. Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and operate a vehicle for extended periods.
- Ability to enter and exit the shuttle van frequently.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull luggage and other guest belongings, generally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
Working Conditions This position requires frequent operation of a hotel shuttle vehicle and regular interaction with hotel guests. The employee may work indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to varying weather, traffic conditions, and periods of high guest demand. Flexible scheduling is required based on hotel occupancy, flight schedules, transportation needs, and business demands

Integrity Compensation Pay Range:
$10.00 - $12.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and shift availability. Eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and state law. Non-Exempt (Hourly) Work Location On-site - Norfolk, Virginia
