Job Description
Summary We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team at the X_Oakville School District on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting students safely and efficiently to and from school and various school-related events. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service. Responsibilities Safely operate a school van, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Transport students to and from school, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. Assist students with boarding and disembarking from the van, providing support as needed. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, conducting routine inspections and reporting any maintenance issues. Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding transportation schedules and any changes. Ensure the safety of all passengers by enforcing seatbelt use and monitoring behavior during transit. Complete necessary documentation, including daily logs and incident reports, as required. Attend training sessions and meetings as needed to stay informed about safety protocols and district policies. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Previous experience driving a van or similar vehicle preferred. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent time management and organizational abilities. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for transporting students. CPR and First Aid certification is a plus, but not required.
