Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Van Driver/Activities Assistant to join our team! In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting residents to various destinations while providing engaging activities that promote social interaction and well-being. Responsibilities Safely operate vans and transit vehicles in accordance with traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations. Transport passengers to scheduled appointments, activities, or outings while adhering to established routes and schedules. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including wheelchair assistance and heavy lifting when necessary. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with passengers, addressing their needs, and ensuring a friendly environment. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation, including CPR, first aid, emergency stop procedures, and incident reporting. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine safety checks before and after trips to ensure optimal operation. Support activity planning by helping organize outings or events that promote social engagement and recreational participation. Assist in activities in the facility, when no transportation is needed. Experience Prior experience driving buses, vans, or transit vehicles preferred; commercial driving or school bus driving experience highly valued. Knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and transportation safety regulations required. $20.00 - $24.48 per hour
