PRN/Part-Time Wheelchair Van Driver Location:
Charleston, WV Position Overview We are seeking dependable, compassionate, and service-oriented individuals to join our team as PRN/Part-Time Wheelchair Van Drivers . In this role, you will provide safe, reliable, and respectful transportation for patients traveling to scheduled medical appointments, dialysis treatments, hospital discharges, rehabilitation facilities, and interfacility transfers. As a Wheelchair Van Driver, you will play an important role in helping patients arrive at their destinations safely, on time, and with dignity . This position requires excellent time management, attention to safety, reliability, and a patient-first approach. You will interact with patients, family members, healthcare providers, and dispatch personnel while providing professional and compassionate customer service throughout each transport. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, works well independently, and takes pride in providing dependable transportation to members of the community. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van during assigned daytime routes Transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, dialysis centers, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare locations Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle using proper safety procedures and body mechanics Properly secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices before transportation Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to patients and their families Maintain punctuality and effective time management throughout assigned routes Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness Keep the vehicle clean, sanitized, organized, and well-maintained Communicate effectively with dispatch and healthcare facilities regarding arrival times, delays, changes, or special transportation needs Follow all applicable safety procedures, HIPAA requirements, company policies, and traffic laws Complete required transportation and trip documentation accurately Qualifications & Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to safely assist patients with mobility needs using proper body mechanics and safety techniques Strong communication and customer service skills Compassionate, patient, and dependable attitude Professional appearance and conduct Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently while following established procedures and schedules Comfortable assisting individuals with mobility limitations Previous experience in non-emergency medical transportation, healthcare, caregiving, or customer service is a plus, but not required Why Join Our Team?
