Job Description

Job Title:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Long-Term Care (LTC)
Location:
Newark, NY Job Type:
Travel Contract (13 Weeks)
Schedule:
Night Shift (5x8) 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM 40 hours/week Every other weekend required
Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a travel assignment in a Long-Term Care neurobehavioral unit. This role involves caring for residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, and behavioral health conditions in a secure and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, grooming, dressing, toileting) Support ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and mobility Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and patient condition changes Provide dementia-focused and behavioral care in a secure unit Maintain patient safety and infection control standards Assist with hygiene care including bed baths, linen changes, and catheter care Operate equipment such as wheelchairs, Hoyer lifts, commodes, and hospital beds Collaborate with nursing staff and care teams
Required Qualifications:
Active CNA Certification BLS Certification Minimum 1 year of CNA experience Comfortable working in a behavioral/dementia care environment Willingness to float based on facility needs
Preferred Skills:
Experience in LTC or dementia care Knowledge of Alzheimer's and behavioral health support Patient transfer and mobility assistance Infection control and PPE usage Accurate documentation and reporting
