Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Travel Take on a critical role caring for patients in a fast-paced stepdown unit. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses who are passionate about providing advanced care, monitoring, and intervention for patients transitioning from intensive care. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting both patients and fellow healthcare professionals as part of a dedicated clinical team.
Schedule:
7:00 AM - 7:30 PM shifts Rotating schedule including every other or every third holiday
Qualifications & Experience:
Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown or progressive care experience preferred Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills Proficiency in monitoring vital signs, titrating IV medications, and working with telemetry equipment Ability to handle high-acuity patient populations in a collaborative environment Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care to patients requiring close observation and specialized interventions between ICU and med-surg acuity Continuously assess, monitor, and document patient condition and response to treatment Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and implement comprehensive care plans Educate patients and families regarding care plans, disease processes, and post-discharge instructions Respond to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions as needed Ensure adherence to all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
