Job Description
Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Travel Deliver high-quality respiratory care and support to patients as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. In this contract position, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal respiratory therapies and interventions to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, and deliver respiratory therapy treatments in accordance with physician orders and patient needs Administer oxygen, aerosol, and inhaled medication treatments Manage and operate a variety of respiratory therapy equipment, including ventilators and monitors Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests Monitor and document patient progress, updating care plans as necessary Respond promptly to emergency situations to provide airway management and life support Educate patients and families on respiratory care and equipment usage Work collaboratively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive careQualifications and Experience:
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Valid state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist Previous experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting is highly preferred BLS certification; ACLS preferred Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively under pressure This contract opportunity is ideal for respiratory care professionals seeking a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic healthcare setting.
