Schedule/Hours:
Travel Assignment (specific hours to be provided by facility)
Qualifications:
Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential Active state licensure (or eligibility to obtain) Current BLS and ACLS certifications Recent experience in acute care or rehabilitation settings preferred Proficiency in ventilatory support equipment, airway management, and respiratory assessment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive respiratory care per medical prescriptions, from assessment and treatment planning to patient education and discharge teaching Conduct and interpret physician-ordered respiratory procedures, including bronchoscopy assistance, ventilator management, and aerosol therapy Perform pulmonary function tests, EKGs, chest physiotherapy, chest tube management, arterial punctures, and tracheostomy care Support patient transport and monitor patient status during transitions of care Apply advanced airway techniques, including endotracheal intubation via various methods Ensure accurate, thorough documentation and effective communication during shift handoffs Assist with laboratory testing procedures and quality controls as relevant to the unit Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams on patient progress and therapeutic efficacy
