Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Travel Experience the welcoming community of Shelton, NE—a perfect launching point for rewarding patient care and meaningful adventures. As a travel RN in the progressive care unit (PCU), you'll develop valuable resume credentials, build professional versatility, and enjoy the flexibility to explore Nebraska's scenic beauty during your downtime.
Schedule & Hours:
12-hour night shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week Every other weekend required Minimum of two holidays required if within the contract period
Qualifications:
Active RN license with 2+ years of stepdown/PCU experience
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
required Must possess competence in arterial line management and titration of drips (Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin) Prior experience reading and interpreting telemetry strips Driver's license required at submittal to comply with location policy (must reside 50+ miles away) Compliance with strict fingernail policy (no artificial nails); pass/fail orientation exam (90% required) Adaptability and strong communication skills essential; willingness to learn and accept feedback
Responsibilities:
Care for adults with a range of cardiac, med/surg, vascular, dialysis, respiratory, and post-procedural needs Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 Float to MedSurg or ICU as needed (will care for PCU-level patients) Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support techs; uphold high standards in patient safety and experience Utilize advanced technology such as overhead lifts, vein finders, and high-flow oxygen devices Ensure accuracy in medication administration and documentation
