Job Description

As a travel RN in a Cardiac Stepdown unit, you'll be exposed to progressive-care practices and a range of patient diagnoses, from heart/lung/vascular conditions to oncology. This assignment offers not only the chance to expand your clinical skillset, but also to enjoy all that Southeast Missouri has to offer during your downtime—think riverside parks, local cuisine, and a warm, friendly culture. With a 13-26 week contract and night shifts, you'll step into a dynamic Cardiac Med Intermediate Care Unit equipped with
EPIC EMR.
This role encourages collaboration with top healthcare professionals and offers a valuable addition to your nursing resume through hands-on experience with advanced procedures, continuous learning, and exposure to varying leadership styles. You'll play a critical role in providing personalized care, supporting patient and family education, and enhancing patient outcomes.
Schedule/Hours:
Night shifts Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 (option for up to 48) Every other weekend required Up to 5 days off permitted per 13-week contract (with advance approval)
Qualifications:
Current RN license Minimum 1 year of recent Stepdown experience EPIC experience required
Certifications:
ACLS & BLS
(active and valid) Strong communication skills; team player Compliance with facility's flu vaccination requirement (Nov-Apr)
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based care for progressive cardiac/vascular patients Accurately document in EPIC and maintain confidentiality Engage with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care Monitor and promptly respond to changes in patient condition Provide patient and family education on care, medications, and self-management Maintain infection control, medication safety, and patient advocacy standards
